Our Healing Journey
Sound and vibration can gently guide the body and mind back to a balanced state. This translates as a relaxed state, encouraging better sleep and a general harmony in the body. Historically throughout the ages, sound has been used in rituals, ceremonies, and healing practices. Experience a sound bath to help release and restore the body’s natural rhythm.
What happens at a sound bath?
Unlike the active concentration required of yoga and meditation, sound baths don’t ask for much. All you need is an open body and mind to enjoy the experience.
After arriving at the venue the participants receiving the sound usually lay down and make themselves comfortable, bringing something to lay on (a mat or blanket), pillow (for head and neck support) and a blanket (to keep you warm). There is a brief introduction and then the sound practitioner will start to play the instruments. The participants just relax and absorb the vibration of sound.
Meet Jon, the proud creator of SOUND VIBRATION
My background is in complimentary medicine…Acupuncture, Shiatsu and Chinese herbal medicine. I have practiced Taiji and Qigong most of my life. I also taught in some of these areas for several years. My aim is to channel this knowledge through the instruments to provide a unique experience for the participants.
It’s the instruments that make it all happen!
There are many different instruments that are used throughout a sound bath. These range from crystal bowls, singing bowls, bells, chimes, gongs, various percussion instruments and list goes on!
The chakra system.
The chakra‘s can be described as energy centers that are spaced throughout the body. There are 7 in the body and each one has an influence over the area where it is sited but can also have affect over emotions and spirituality too. Sound vibration can directly effect and penetrate via the chakra system and help restore balance to the chakra system or a particular chakra.
Do I have to believe in the chakra system or be spiritual to attend a sound bath?
ABSOLUTELY NOT!
There is no belief system that you have to follow to enjoy a sound bath. There are many people that purely attend only for the sound and vibration. This experience is open to everyone, without limitation.
How will the sound and vibration effect me?
Most people experience a feeling of deep relaxation. It‘s important to note that everyone is individual and your experience can be different to the person next to you.
The concept of sound therapy or vibrational healing continues to grow, especially in modern wellness practices like sound baths, where instruments are used to stimulate the body’s energy fields, helping to release stress and restore balance. These practices are based on the understanding that everything in the universe, including our bodies, vibrate at certain frequencies. When our personal frequencies are out of alignment, it can lead to physical or emotional discomfort. By immersing ourselves in healing vibrations, we can return to a state of natural harmony. After a sound bath people often feel at peace with themselves and everything around them, this is sometimes a rarity in our busy lives.
Meditation ….did you know?
We know meditation is said to be good for us, but many find it very difficult to achieve with our busy lives.
DID YOU KNOW that meditation induces the brain waves of the theta state, this is the same theta state brain waves that sound and vibration create in the sound bath. If you perhaps find it difficult to enter a meditative state, then possibly a sound bath / journey may help you achieve this.
Is there any science behind it?
There is growing evidence that sound baths can offer positive mental, emotional, and even physical benefit. While more rigorous, large-scale research is still needed, existing studies and anecdotal reports are encouraging and suggest several key benefits relating to sound and vibration, you can find more information on this in the navigation section.
